Reuben Dragonheart Face Mask
Behind the Mask –
Designed by Reuben:
Reuben is six years old and can write about 12 words, but art is his first language.
The pandemic weighed heavily on his mom, BC Cancer art therapist Sara Hankinson, this spring. One day Reuben drew a “Love dragon” for her. This dragon has the ability to give the hearts off of his back to others and then grow new ones. But its real power is turning things pink! He also drew her butterflies, flowers, and hearts to make her happy (which they did.)
Reuben was excited to have his art featured on as a part of the Masked Heroes initiative and he hopes it will make other people happy too.
Very comfortable and has lots of room. Washes well. Glad I bought it. My other cloth masks are solid colors, so it is good to have a patterned one. A satisfying way to help the BC Cancer Foundation:)
I love it! Fits comfortably and the print is so cute! I would love to see more children’s drawings on masks
Thank you for your review. We will consider your suggestion for more children's drawings.
It’s adorable. Fits nicely. I’m thrilled to be able to purchase a product that gives a young cancer warrior a positive to focus on as well as help raise money for the cancer foundation.
Got it for my school teacher sister. I think she’ll like it.
This is such a great story and it’s fun to wear, as much fun as a face mask can be. I ordered a size small (50’s woman, slim build) and it fits really well. It doesn’t interfere with my vision at all as some masks do. It’s been washed several times and has held up well in both the design appearance and fit/feel. I like the lining and the fact that there is a pocket to fit in an additional piece of filtering if desired.
